FUNDAMENTALS U7,8
The objective of the FUNdamentals Program is to get children moving, develop fundamental movement skills and enjoying being physically active. Skill development will be structured, positive and FUN and will concentrate on developing the ABCs of Agility, Balance and Coordination plus speed.
FUNDAMENTALS U7 and 8
This recreational program is specifically geared for young athletes ages Under 7 and 8 born in 2016 and 2017. Following the curriculum developed and approved by Canada Soccer it is led by an instructor and parent volunteers. The approach incorporates research-approved strategies to help keep kids engaged, develop coordination, adaptability and skill while having fun and building psych-social skills.
- Sessions will begin with some physical literacy, fun and coordination. Players will be placed in situations where skill can emerge through careful manipulation of the environment, variable repetition and activities to promote confidence.
- Game play will conclude each session, allowing players to learn through playing while applying skills in context. There are no scores or standings kept at these age groups.
- Registration includes a full uniform (jersey, shorts, socks) Outdoor soccer cleats or running shoes and shin pads are required.
